I am pleased to advertise a two-year postdoctoral position in Mantle Dynamics at University College London.

<div>The successful applicant will be part of the Geodynamics group in the Earth Sciences Department</div>

<div>at UCL, whose aim is to understand how mantle processes are connected to interior structure and</div>

<div>surface observables. The applicant will interact closely with seismologists and mineral physicists in the</div>

<div>Structure, Dynamics and Evolution of the Earth and Planets research group.</div>

<div>The initial focus of the project is to generate, use and interpret thermodynamic velocity-density scalings</div>

<div>for 3-D seismic tomographic models of shear wave velocity and attenuation to explore the dynamics of the</div>

<div>transition zone and the lower mantle.</div>

<div>The post is funded by the UK’s National Environmental Research Council for two years. The deadline for applications</div>
