The project aims at improving our understanding of</div><div>active deformation and large earthquakes within plate interiors,</div><div>with the long-term goal of providing guidelines for earthquake</div><div>hazard assessment in such a setting.</div><div><br></div><div>A Ph.D. in Geophysics and experience with the analysis of geodetic</div><div>deformation measurements, and/or earthquake seismology, and/or</div><div>development of continuum mechanics based deformation models are</div><div>required. The successful candidate will be expected to perform data</div><div>analyses and modeling using high-performance computing, and publish</div><div>scientific results in top refereed journals.
