2023 AGU
Visit Morrison Planetarium During AGU
You’re invited to a special planetarium presentation for AGU attendees on Wednesday, 13 December, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., at the California Academy of Sciences in San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park. This is a rare opportunity to enjoy Morrison Planetarium and an informal exploration of planetary features free of charge.
Our current agenda for the night includes 90 minutes of presentations using the NASA-funded OpenSpace open-source planetarium software, followed by a showing of the Academy’s 2021 planetarium show, Living Worlds.
Current proposed OpenSpace presentations: Ebru Bozdag (Colorado School of Mines) and Ka Chun Yu (Denver Museum of Nature and Science) will show visualizations of mantle plume and seismic wave models, Carter Emmart (AMNH) will share work in progress on Apollo reconstructions, and Elana Resnick and Elon Olsson (NASA Goddard) will highlight Community Coordinated Modeling Center (CCMC) heliophysics models.
Admission will be on a first come, first served basis, and interested attendees are invited to RSVP before noon on Wednesday, 13 December.
Limit: 199 people [sign up]
This presentation is intended for AGU and colleagues in the science and science education communities. Please register each person in your party individually. For safety reasons, children under five are not allowed in the planetarium.
