Cedric,
thanks for pointing out these inconsistencies. I've updated the description of 
the parameters in Aspect to reference the formulas in the paper. In particular:

parameters.stabilization_beta = alpha_max in the paper
parameters.stabilization_c_R = alpha_E in the paper
parameters.stabilization_alpha = 2 in the paper (a fixed value, no variable)
