The Gordon Research Conference (GRC) and Gordon Research Seminar (GRS) on
Rock Deformation will take place at Proctor Academy in Andover, New
Hampshire this summer.

Gordon Research Conferences, regarded by many as "the utopia of scientific
conferences", provide an international forum for the presentation and
discussion of frontier research, where early career researchers including
students and postdocs have open access to all levels of the scientific
community. This GRC (August 17-22, 2014) will focus on "Evolving rock
structure: From grain-scale to planet-scale".

In addition to GRCs, Gordon Research Seminars aim at providing a unique
opportunity to graduate students and postdocs to discuss their current
research and build networks. The inaugural Rock Deformation GRS,
"Multi-scale and multi-phase systems", will be held in the weekend
immediately prior to the GRC, from August 16 -17, 2014.

Online application is now open at:

For the GRC, https://www.grc.org/programs.aspx?year=2014&program=rockdef

For the GRS, https://www.grc.org/programs.aspx?year=2014&program=grs_rock

<https://www.grc.org/programs.aspx?year=2014&program=grs_rock>

The application submission deadline for the GRC is July 20, 2014. The
application submission deadline for the GRS is July 19, 2014. Students,
postdocs and other early career researchers who wish to attend both the GRS
and GRC must submit two separate applications. Please note that any
applicants who wish to be considered for an oral presentation at the GRS
should submit their application by May 16, 2014.

For students, faculty and scientists from underrepresented groups, Carl
Storm Underrepresented Minority Fellowship program will provide funds for
attending the GRC. Please follow this link to learn more about, and apply
