Dear CIG Modelers,

You are warmly invited to join our community workshop in Portland, OR on
April 30th - May 2nd, 2015.

We invite numerical model developers and users in the solid Earth
Sciences communities to help shape the basic concepts of the
interdisciplinary Model Coupling Metadata (MCM) format. Your input will
correct and steer any further work on this project. Our discussion will
be focused on the development of a new standard and tools that make it
easy for the numerical model developers and users in geodynamic,
seismic, magnetotelluric and petrologic modeling communities to document
their code in an unambiguous way that is both machine and human-readable.

This work is part of the NSF's EarthCube "Earth System Bridge"
project, which is a large multi-institutional collaboration intended to
enable communication between modeling frameworks and standalone
numerical models in geosciences, across the domains in climate,
hydrology, solid Earth and surface dynamics. As part of this effort,
different modeling communities across geosciences are looking at
standardizing their numerical model metadata. The feedback of the solid
Earth modeling community is critical for this effort, and we are looking
forward to your participation.

Please click here <http://www.cvent.com/d/prqly2> for more details,
or to register for the workshop. Partial travel support will be
available. The registration deadline is Wednesday, March 25th, at which
point we shall confirm your registration and indicate your level of
travel support. The housing reservation deadline is Friday, March 27th.

We are looking forward to seeing you in Portland, OR!

Sincerely,

Anna Kelbert
