[CIG-ALL] Fwd: Input Requested - Draft Software Citation Principles

Dear Community,

Of major importance to CIG is the support of good software engineering practices in our community. We do this in a number of ways by developing software best practice <https://geodynamics.org/cig/dev/best-practices/> and continuous integration and testing of hosted codes.  In addition, CIG has been involved in promoting credit for software developers and engineers through citation and attribution through a separately funded project SAGA <https://geodynamics.org/cig/projects/saga/> - Software Attribution for Geoscience Applications and through participating in FORCE11.  You can contribute by providing input to FORCE11’s Draft Software Citation Principles.  Please check out this document and add your insights.

And REMEMBER to give credit to your colleagues through software citation send <mailto:pubs at geodynamics.org>ing us all publications (DOIs accepted) using CIG software. If you have any questions about the proper way to cite software, we are here to answer your questions!
