We are looking for potential candidates for a PhD position in Geophysics at University of Roma Tre, Italy.
Your duties: i) Analyze and interpret seismic data, ii) build an improved seismic model of the upper mantle below the Tyrrhenian Sea, iii) draw inferences on current thermo-chemical structure and geodynamical evolution of the Tyrrhenian Sea.
The research proposal is part of an ongoing co-operation with the University of Twente, Holland (Lithosphere of Sardinia, LISARD project) that allowed to acquire a vast amount of valuable seismic data composed by more than one year-long records from an array of 10 broadband stations and also involves collaboration with UPMC Paris.
Applicants must hold a Master degree or equivalent in Earth Sciences or Geophysics. We are looking for candidates motivated to pursue an interdisciplinary project. Candidates with experience in processing seismic and other geophysical data will be preferred. The position is for 3 years and will be fully funded by the University of Roma Tre. :
