The position involves the development of mathematical methods for image reconstruction and the implementation of those methods using high-performance, parallelized GPU platforms. Specific imaging modalities include photoacoustic tomography and ultrasound tomography. Certain projects also involve the development of machine learning methods for improving image reconstruction and image interpretation. A strong applicant will be proficient in the following skills: • scientific programming in C/C++/CUDA • numerical optimization methods • inverse problems • wave physics and waveform inversion The ideal applicant will also have experience in image reconstruction, a strong background in linear algebra and/or discrete mathematics as well as a demonstrated record of scientific achievement. Both post-doctoral and Staff Scientist-level positions are available. For more information, please contact: Mark A.
