Greetings,

I am pleased to announce an update of SNAC (StGermaiN Analysis of
Continua) to version 1.1.0. SNAC is an updated Lagrangian explicit
finite difference code for modeling a finitely deforming
elasto-visco-plastic solid in 3D, released under the GNU General Public
License.

In this update,

* Post-processing improved: snac2vtk now takes fewer arguments and
writes more useful information.

* Checkpointing activated.

* The code for generating restart files, snac2restart, has been improved
by Colin Stark.

* A new plugin, "hillSlope", for the landslide problems donated by Colin
Stark.

* Unnecessary dependencies disabled and obsolete plugins removed.

* User manual expanded and updated: It covers most of the new features
and includes a comprehensive description of SNAC's algorithm for
plasticity as well as the recent parallel performance data.

You can download the source code from

http://geodynamics.org/cig/software/packages/long/snac

Installation instructions are available in the User Manual on the web page.

Sincerely,
Eunseo Choi
