I apologize for the delay.  I have been busy merging with the upstream
developers.  Your other addition for the SurfaceShape is only in the
new version, so I figured that it would be better to have a fix your
problem in the new version.  In any case, I am almost done with the
merge, so I should have time to look at these problems later this
week.
