Walter,

I installed and tried running the MacOSX (Snow Leopard) bundle on my machine but it doesn't work for me...

The terminal error message is:

Segmentation fault

I have the same type of error message when I compile the code from the Mercurial repo, though...

I first suspected my system architecture to have something wrong also I tried an older version of Gale. Version 1.5.0 (bundle) is running fine.

Anyone else having trouble with the Mac bundle and/or source?

I am pleased to announce the release of Gale 1.6.1, a finite element
code for the long term tectonics community.  This release fixes issues
related to thermal diffusivity and stress boundary conditions.
Everyone is encouraged to upgrade.  The release notes are attached
below.

Installation instructions are in the bundled README and INSTALL files.
Gale 1.6.1 has also been installed on the teragrid machine Lonestar.

* This release fixes a serious bug where the thermal diffusivities of
  different materials were being ignored in versions since 1.5.0.

* A bug preventing the use of StandardConditionFunctions in StressBC's
  have been fixed.
