[CIG-MC] request for inputs for CIG-MC update

The CIG-Science Steering committee is going to meet at the end of May. I am supposed to give a summary on the CIG-related activities in the area of mantle convection for the last year, and also make some recommendation for future priorities including CIG-II. 

I would welcome your input and comments.
