Hello Bobby,
I used ASPECT last semester in a graduate level course. We had our students log in to an on-campus cluster where ASPECT was already installed. The document linked below gives instructions for installing ASPECT on a Mac, which should be relatively easy:

Definitely try it out yourself first. If you are able to install ASPECT easily on your Mac then there are a number of “cookbooks” that can be used as examples. Check the manual for details on the cookbook examples. Changing parameters in one of the cookbook parameter files (.prm) is straightforward using a text editor. If using a laptop you will want to keep the number of initial global refinements small.
Best,
Sarah

I’m not looking to make this a big project, instead I’d prefer to have students change parameters and compare/contrast outputs.
