Specifically, you can get gfortran binaries from

  http://hpc.sourceforge.net/

or 

  http://quatramaran.ens.fr/~coudert/gfortran/gfortran-4.5.0-x86_64-SnowLeopard.dmg

You do not need MPI for Mineos.
