Dear Marwan,

Yes, just change source_time_function() in file
src/specfem2D/prepare_source_time_function.f90.

Regarding "random" source time functions, keep in mind that a 
finite-difference scheme is used in time, therefore as in any method 
based on such a time scheme only reasonably smooth time functions can be 
used (i.e. no steps, no Dirac, no Heaviside...)
