[CIG-SEISMO] gmsh mesh for specfem3d

Hi there,

I'm attempting to simulate the seismic wavefield for a fractured medium using specfem3d and been trying to get familiar with the examples. I've compiled things ok and have run the homogenous halfspace model example, but I'm encountering problems with the meshing for the other examples, so I was wondering if you could perhaps assist..

I've been trying for several weeks to generate meshes with gmsh for import into specfem3d, and seem to be failing. I'm just wondering if you can give me some step by step instructions for this, or a working example of a gmsh mesh (both the .msh file and the specfem3d input), and a working converter?

I have tried using the gmsh converter script ./specfem3d/utils/Cubit_or_Gmsh/gmsh2specfem3d.py on a .msh file but there seems to be a problem with the python indenting, which I try to fix and then it doesn't seem to work, complaining about PosPhys variables... - and I think I'm generating the gmsh mesh wrongly.

I'm a little new to meshing, and somewhat confused/frustrated (apologies!) so if you can perhaps send me example it would be really wonderful! :)

Kind regards.
