[CIG-SEISMO] Fwd: material properties with every GLL using xmeshfem3d

Hi,

I understand from the specfem3d manual (
http://geodynamics.org/cig/software/specfem3d/specfem3d-manual.pdf)
from chapter 11 that SPECFEM3D Cartesian can handle earth models with
material properties that vary within each spectral element.

The description given in the manual says that CUBIT can generate such
meshes, where for each GLL point in the mesh, material properties (vp, vs
and rho) could be specified. However, I am wondering if the same kind of
meshing (with material properties) can be achieved using the xmeshfem3d or
not. If we can achieve, could share it with me how to do that. Thanks

Regards
Sudheer
