Hi all:

I wanted to inform everyone that we will be providing a one-day PyLith
tutorial at the EarthScope National Meeting in May in Austin, TX. This
will be one of the pre-meeting workshops on May 17. More information
will be sent out soon.

The program committee for our ongoing series of Crustal Deformation
Modeling workshops is considering switching to biannual meetings rather
than holding the workshops annually. This plan would involve alternating
with the EarthScope National Meeting, so we would skip holding a meeting
this year. We would also like to experiment with virtual workshops and
help sessions. This we would allow us to continue to provide PyLith
training on at least an annual if not semi-annual basis (perhaps two
times a year) while holding a five-day meeting every other year.

Please provide feedback on (1) whether you strongly support or oppose
switching to biannual workshops and (2) do you strong support or oppose
experimenting with virtual workshops. Additional comments are welcome.

If we do decide to hold the workshop this year, it would be June 20-24,
2011 at the Colorado School of Mines, in Golden, CO. The lodging would
be in older dorms that do not have air conditioning (this is a one-time
inconvenience due to construction).

Thanks,
Brad Aagaard
