[CIG-SHORT] How stress are calculated on the fault surface

Hi,
I am wondering how the stress are calculated on the fault surface  I know
for Finite element the stress field in not usually computed on the
boundaries of the grid, but at internal nodes and then extrapolated to
compute the slip nodes Boundary conditions, is this approach used in Pylith
? And what is the order of accuracy is this approach?
