[CIG-SHORT] Damping in Dynamic Simulation

Farrokh,

The numerical damping for explicit time stepping is to reduce spurious 
high frequency noise that cannot be resolved accurately (which may arise 
in spontaneous rupture simulations). None of the currently available 
material models include anelastic attenuation. I started on an 
implementation using a generalized Maxwell model but have never had time 
to finish it (GenMaxwellQpQsIsotropic3D). It possible for users to add 
material models without modifying the main PyLith code, so if you have a 
physical model for damping in mind, you can implement your own (see the 
manual section on extending PyLith for more information).
