To whom it may concern:
The Computational Infrastructure for Geodynamics (CIG) will host a webinar of the Geodynamics and ASPECT final class co-taught at the Virginia Tech Dept. of Geosciences by Profs. D. Sarah Stamps and Scott King.
The overall goal of the Fall 2015 Geodynamics and ASPECT course is to get our new graduate students (Grant Euen and Tahiry Rajaonarison) up to speed quickly with ASPECT so they can use it for scientific research in their first year of graduate school. The course is a 1 credit practicum taught simultaneously with a 3 credit Geodynamics course.
The students had two projects: (1) create a pull request based on extending the ASPECT cookbook and (2) attempt a 3D spherical benchmark with ASPECT.
The final class webinar will be on Tuesday from 12:30 - 1:30 EDT with the following agenda:
12:30 - 12:40 Introduction of webinar and class (Dr. Hwang and Stamps)
12:40 - 12:55 Project 1 (students)
12:55 - 1:05 Discussion
1:05 - 1:20 Project 2 (students)
1:20 - 1:30 Discussion
Best,
S.
