[CIG-ALL] NSF's OCI issues new solicitation on "Software Infrastructure for Sustained Innovation"

NSF's Office of Cyber Infrastructure (OCI) just issued a new  
solicitation on "Software Infrastructure for Sustained Innovation  
(SI**2)”. We wish to alert the CIG community of this potential  
opportunity.  The element of this solicitation that may be most  
appropriate for CIG is "Scientific Software Integration (SSI) which  
"targets larger groups of PIs around common research problems as well  
as common software infrastructure, and will result in a sustainable  
community software framework".  Level of support equivalent to 1 or 2  
senior personnel, 3-4 grad students and their collective research  
needs for 3-5 years.  Next year, the “Scientific Software Innovation  
Institutes" may be of interest too.

The solicitation was just issued.  LOI due May 10,2010.  Full proposal  
deadline is June 10, 2010.  See:
