Dear Community,

The new academic year is well underway and the 2015 Fall AGU Meeting is rapidly approaching. Our community has been busy through the summer into the fall and we hope you had the opportunity to relax and collaborate with colleagues worldwide. As 2015 winds down, please join us in these upcoming events and activities:

WEBINARS. This month’s webinar is THIS Thursday November 12 @ 2pm PT featuring Anders Petersson, LLNL, who will be introducing us to SW4 in his talk Simulating seismic wave propagation with SW4. 
DON’T MISS starting January 2016 our series on uncertainty, verification and validation, and applications to earth sciences. We are very fortunate to have several noted experts in the field kicking off the series providing an introduction to this important topic.
CIG Business Meeting  Monday December 14 @ AGU. This year we will be at the Intercontinental SF <https://geodynamics.org/cig/events/calendar/2013-cig-business-meeting-2-2/>, right around the corner from Moscone West.  Join us on the 4th floor beginning at 6pm for light hors d’oeuvres.
AGU Abstracts. Help your colleagues find your research amongst thousands of abstracts by SUBMIT <https://geodynamics.org/cig/events/calendar/agu-2015-week/agu-info-form/>ting your abstracts and sessions of interest for posting <https://geodynamics.org/cig/events/calendar/agu-2015-week/2015/> on the the CIG website. Listings help showcase our active research community.
VOTE. Contact your Member Representative  <https://geodynamics.org/cig/about/membership/member-representatives/>and cast your ballot in this year’s elections <https://geodynamics.org/cig/about/governance/elections/> for open positions on the EC and SSC.
