I am pleased to advertise a two-year postdoctoral position in Mantle Dynamics at University College London.

The successful applicant will be part of the Geodynamics group in the Earth Sciences Department
at UCL, whose aim is to understand how mantle processes are connected to interior structure and
surface observables. The applicant will interact closely with seismologists and mineral physicists in the
Structure, Dynamics and Evolution of the Earth and Planets research group.

The initial focus of the project is to generate, use and interpret thermodynamic velocity-density scalings
for 3-D seismic tomographic models of shear wave velocity and attenuation to explore the dynamics of the
transition zone and the lower mantle.

The post is funded by the UK’s National Environmental Research Council for two years. The deadline for applications
