Hello Stephanie,

If you didn't modified the yielding.xml, all the outputs have to be in
the folder output.template as specified in the input file on line 439:

 <param name="outputPath">./output.template</param>

Regarding the pressure.0.000XX.vts files, the 10th time step has to be
pressure.0.00010.vts (or .pvts); pressure.0.00001.vts is the output file
corresponding to the 1st time step.

First think you have to check is that all the output files are in the
output.template folder.  If you only find 'pressure.0.00000.vts' and
other files with names containing XXXXX.00000.XXX, it means that Gale
hasn't run and exported the output files.  

I guess you're on a windows machine. So, when you run Gale in the
"Command Prompt" (Gale_1_3_0.exe input\cookbook\yielding.xml), could you
read something like that?

TimeStep = 1, Start time = 0 + 0 prev timeStep dt

TimeStep = 2, Start time = 0 + 0.0107639 prev timeStep dt

TimeStep = 3, Start time = 0.0107639 + 0.0106587 prev timeStep dt

[...]

TimeStep = 10, Start time = 0.0846319 + 0.0103424 prev timeStep dt

If so, Gale has done the job. If not, Gale hasn't done the job. 

If Gale has done the job and well created the outputs, in Paraview, you
go in File>Open. Then, you define the path to the output.template folder
where Paraview will look in for the files. Then you can select the file
you'd like to visualise (see attachment for a screenshot of Paraview
open file window).

Hello,

      My name is Stephanie and I am currently a 4th year undergraduate
student attempting to get accquatinted with GALE.  I've downloaded
Paraview 3.2.1, VTK for Windows, as well as Python and am able to run
GALE from the command  prompt.  My problem comes with output files - I
am able to run the yielding.xml for GALE in the command prompt, but I am
not sure where all the output files are downloaded to.  Some seemed to
have been saved in the output.template, however, when I attempt to
navigate to these files to visualize them in Paraview, I am unable to
locate them.  I am only able to locate for instance pressure.0.00000.vts
but not the needed pressure.0.00001.vts (which according to the user
manual is the 10th time step for the yielding.xml file).  

     I believe I've missed a step in the download/installation process
or incorporating a plug-in or  something that is hindering me from
following along precisely with the examples indicated in the GALE user
manual.  

      I am not even sure if I am making any sense, but any input or
suggestions or anything at all at this point would be greatly
appreciated.  Thank you so much.  Take care.
