Using Visit 2.5, click

  Add->Mesh->FEM_Grid_v-mesh

and then click Draw.  For the arrows, click

  Add->Vector->FEM_Grid_v-mesh->VelocityField

and then click Draw.  To make the arrows black, click
PlotAtts->Vector, then the "Rendering" tab.  Under the "Color"
section, select "Constant".
