[CIG-MC] CitcomS on laptop help

I am trying to run CitcomS 3.2.0 and work through some of the cookbooks on my macbook. The manual for CitcomS says that that the cookbooks rely on Pyre, which only works with Python 2.4 to 2.6. The problem is I have Python 2.7 on my mac so Pyre doesn't work. Is there any way to work around this problem without installing another version of Python?
