Hi all,
Forgive me if this is naive but I have a very basic question regarding
initial conditions and model perturbations and so on in CitcomS. I'm
fairly new to Citcom and finite element modeling in general but I'm
slowly getting my bearings about me when it comes to running these
models and analyzing the results. I'm having trouble moving much
beyond the cookbook examples though.
The main issue I have is basically a conceptual one about generating
initial model parameters and conditions. As an example, if I were to
try and model a delaminating root as a low temperature body in the
upper layers of a mesh, would I set up my model as just a
"perturbation" in layer 1 (or some linear combination of several
"perturbations") or is there a more intuitive way to define the
initial temperature and velocity conditions?
I know that in other finite element software it's somewhat common to
use 'mesh generation' software like Cubit to initialize model
parameters. Is something like that possible for convection models like
Citcom or am I misunderstanding something fundamental about the way
convection models work?
Perhaps someone could recommend a resource that explains these things
to me.
Thanks in advance.
Cheers,
Jonathan
