We are pleased to announce the latest release of the CIG Seismology
Web Portal, which provides on-demand simulations of seismic wave
propagation. The portal's processor capability has been enhanced to
1012 processors, via the TeraGrid Ranger's Hero queue.

This new configuration has been tested up to 1004 processors on a
global mesh which is capable of resolving waves of the shortest period
of 7 seconds. At this resolution, the longest seismogram record length
is about 30 minutes.

We encourage you to try out the CIG Seismology Web Portal at

https://crust.geodynamics.org/portals/seismo/

(When prompted to accept the site's security certificate, click
"Accept this certificate permanently" or "Accept this certificate
temporarily for this session.")

First-time users should click the "register" link and then fill out
the registration form to create a new account. Returning users can
login directly.

If you have any questions or comments regarding the portal, e-mail us
at portal at geodynamics.org . We welcome all feedback (ease of use, wait
time, etc.), and especially want to hear how the Seismology portal
enhances your research or contributes to any papers or conference
posters you may produce.
