[CIG-SEISMO] cloning of specfem2d/specfem3d example folder fails

Hi all,

We had a similar problem last week, it seems to be the 
vcs.geodynamics.org server that crashes from time to time, thus let me 
cc Eric to see if he knows how to fix that.
