[CIG-SEISMO] Fwd: One-pagers for CIG

Dear cig-seismo:

Many folks are doing exciting science with CIG seismology codes. Please try
to find 30 min or so to submit a one-pager on your work to CIG (see email
below). These will be used for the CIG proposal to NSF. I know that some of
you have submitted them already -- thank you! But we're still pretty short
on some codes and topics in seismology.

I put together three one-pagers from abstracts and submitted them.

What this entails:
1. open template (attached)
2. copy an abstract (from a published paper or a meeting, for example) or
write some summary text
3. copy a figure and add a caption
4. email to Lorraine at ljhwang at ucdavis.edu

In some cases you may have multiple papers or abstracts on a single topic.
In that case it's great if you can combine the references and give a title
that covers that topics.

Thanks for your help on this.

Regards,
Carl

Dear colleagues,

This is a reminder that we are seeking one-page abstracts of activities
that benefited from CIG's codes, tutorials, workshops, and other
activities. These will be used as we prepare the next CIG proposal this
spring. This can draw on an abstract that you already have in-hand
(i.e.from a paper or work in progress), and should include a figure or two
and a bit of other info.

I'm attaching the template. If you have not already sent one in, we would
like to receive your one-pager in the next week or two; our intention is
that it should not take you too much time to prepare. Multiple submissions
representing the breadth of your activities are welcome!

Examples from the previous proposal can be downloaded through the following
link:

http://geodynamics.org/cig/download_file/55/

Please feel free to forward this email to colleagues who may not be on
this mailing list.

Send one-pagers to Lorraine Hwang: ljhwang at ucdavis.edu

Thanks,

Louise
