Yang,
Please try the following:
Right click on the PyLith icon.
Click on "Troubleshoot Compatibility"
Click on "Try recommended settings"
Send me what it says after "Settings applied:"
For the CIG Windows 7 machine it says:
Windows compatibility mode; Windows XP (Service Pack 2)
Double-click on the PyLith icon.
At the prompt type:
pylith
I get the following error message:
--cut--
ValueError: Filename for ASCII input mesh not specified.
Backtrace - Component meshioascii, reader
Backtrace - Component meshimporter, mesh_generator
Backtrace - Component pylithapp
If that works, then try
cd src/pylith/examples/3d/hex8
pylith step01.cfg
If the example runs, the click on Next in the Program Compatibility
window, and then "Yes save these settings for this program."
If you still can't run PyLith, click on Next in the Program
Compatibility window, and then "No, try again using different settings."
Click on "The program worked in earlier versions of Windows but won't
install or run now". Then try running PyLith again.
Thanks,
Brad
