Dear Colleagues:

Please join us TODAY, Thursday, March 21 @ 2pm PT, for our next CIG Webinar
featuring Prof. Sylvain Barbot from Nanyang Technological University on
Using Relax to Probe the Rheology of the Lithosphere. The Relax software
implements a semi analytic solver in the Fourier domain to simulate stress
change and deformation in the lithosphere caused by earthquakes and other
environmental changes. Recently, Relax was used to simulate coupled
afterslip and viscoelastic flow following the 1999 Chi-Chi earthquake. In
this webinar, Prof. Barbot will explore how to use Relax to simulate Coulomb
stress change, afterslip, and 3D viscoelastic model of postseismic
deformation. You will learn how to setup the input files, and visualize the
simulation. Maps will be generated of surface displacement and stress with
GMT and explore large data sets in 3D using Paraview.

You may connect to the meeting through the link provided below or through
the home page at geodynamics.org. More complete instructions can also be
found at:

Remember to test your connection before the beginning the webinar.

All webinars will be recorded for later viewing at the above url and on our
YouTube Channel, CIG Geodynamics
(http://www.youtube.com/user/cigeodynamics). Navigate to either to view
previous webinars.

Please forward to friends and colleagues.

Regards,
-Lorraine
