[CIG-SHORT] Pylith error:: mpinemesis(7324) malloc: *** error for object 0x10527efb4

Hello,

I am running a modified version of example/2d/subduction and get an error that I think is associated with how I've defined my 2D fault or how I define slip imposed on that fault (all files are attached). I can get the same error with the 2d subduction example when I incorrectly change the slip file used in step01. 

My 2D mesh compiles in Cubit with no errors and I get quite far in running step01.cfg with the modified files. However, the following error occurs:
