[CIG-SHORT] number of points in output file

Xiao,

Use the HDF5 utility h5dump to examine the contents of the HDF5 file.
http://www.hdfgroup.org/HDF5/doc/RM/Tools.html#Tools-Dump

This will allow you to examine the sizes and values of each of the fields.
