[CIG-SHORT] Output error with cohesion on faults

Hi Brad (and all),

I'm working with Joseph on this problem, and we are running PyLith 2.1.1.

We tried to access session IV (Step 03), but it seems that the youtube link won't work, and the mp4 will not load properly. Is there another host for those video files?

Thank You,
Bobby Karimi

Joseph,

This sounds like a convergence or tolerance issue. If this is a quasi-static simulation, have you verified that the nonlinear and linear solves are converging at every time step? For an example of how to do this, see Session IV (step03) in the 2015 PyLith Tutorial at https://wiki.geodynamics.org/software:pylith:cdm2015.

If you send another message to the list, please include the version of PyLith you are using and a description of the problem you are running (diagrams are usually very helpful).

Regards,
Brad
