[CIG-SHORT] Reg: multi-scale simulation using pylith

Anil,

There is no multi-scale algorithm in PyLith. The solution of the 
equations is described in detail in the manual and the Aagaard et al. 
JGR 2013 paper. Version 3.0 will use the PETSc TS for adaptive time 
stepping; see the PETSc documentation for details on what algorithms are 
supported.
