[CIG-SHORT] Compiling pylith-2.1.0 using pylith 2.2.0 installer

Hi Brad,

I am trying to install the pylith 2.1.0 from the 2.2.0 installer. The reason is that it makes it easier to merge some libraries that’s been developed earlier in 2.1.0 to be merged later to the 2.2.0. After setting up the configuration file, I change the Makefile’s PYLITH_VER parameter to 2.1.0. However, the installer stops at very end during compiling pylith with following error message:

——
checking for PETSc config... no
configure: error: PETSc config dir not found; check PETSC_ARCH
make[2]: Entering directory `/home/ehsanhaghighat/development/pylith-gprs/build/pylith/pylith-build'
make[2]: *** No targets specified and no makefile found. Stop.
make[2]: Leaving directory `/home/ehsanhaghighat/development/pylith-gprs/build/pylith/pylith-build'
make[1]: *** [pylith] Error 2
make[1]: Leaving directory `/home/ehsanhaghighat/development/pylith-gprs/build/pylith'
make: *** [installed_pylith] Error 2

First, my question is do you think it is doable at all? (I don’t see a reason to hold it back) Any suggestion you have to bypass this?

Best regards,
Ehsan
