Postdoctoral Researcher - Ecole Normale Superieure, Paris, France

The Department of Geosciences of the Ecole Normale Superieure (Paris,
France) is seeking a postdoctoral researcher in the field of crustal
deformation. The project aims at improving our understanding of
active deformation and large earthquakes within plate interiors,
with the long-term goal of providing guidelines for earthquake
hazard assessment in such a setting.

A Ph.D. in Geophysics and experience with the analysis of geodetic
deformation measurements, and/or earthquake seismology, and/or
development of continuum mechanics based deformation models are
required. The successful candidate will be expected to perform data
analyses and modeling using high-performance computing, and publish
scientific results in top refereed journals. Funding is garanteed for
one year, with a possibility of continuation for a second year.

The Ecole Normale Superieure is a research and higher education
public institution located in the heart of Paris, offering exceptional
scientific and intellectual environment
(http://www.ens.fr/spip.php?rubrique8&lang=en) candidate will work
within the Department of Geosciences and the "Geology Laboratory"
CNRS research unit.

To apply, send a cover letter explaining your motivation for the
position, a CV, and the names of three references (for letters of
recommendation) to eric.calais at ens.fr. Review of materials will
begin immediately until the closing date of March 31, 2013.
