Logistics
Transportation
- All participants should plan on flying roundtrip to Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC) arriving Tuesday, May 21 and departing Saturday, June 1.
- Group transportation to and from Heber, Utah will be provided from SLC. Please arrive by early afternoon and avoid very early departures. Diving time is approximately 1 hr.
- If you arrive very late or depart very early, transportation must be prearranged.
- All participants are expected to stay the duration of the event.
- Travel support is available to cover most of transportation costs. Please apply when registering.
- Please indicate on the registration form if you need special assistance due to a disability during your stay.
Travel Reimbursements
- Participants will be reimbursed up to their offer amount for transportation expenses only.
- Transportation upon arrival will be covered as a group expense.

Lodging
- All rooms are shared (2-6 persons) with shared bathrooms.
- Bed types include bunkbeds. Rooming arrangements are preassigned. Mutual roommate requests are accepted.
- Laundry is available on site.
- Please remember to bring your own toiletries - soap, shampoo, etc. and swim towel.
- A flashlight, water bottle, and your reusable CIG cup is recommended.
- Check in time is 4pm.
- Check out time is 10am.
Food
- This is a group event. Participants are expected to share in general upkeep of the premises. This includes two days of mandatory kitchen duty. KP (kitchen patrol) begins with dinner and ends with lunch. Teams are expected to have the kitchen ready for the next meal. Everyone is expected to clean-up after themselves.
- Evening meals are catered except for two free evenings. Breakfast and lunch provisions will be available with limited food preparation service (DIY). Baking is highly encouraged!
- Please do not bring nut products.

Clothing
The region has a range of recreational activities. We recommend bringing a pair of hiking shoes, hat, swimsuit and towel, sunscreen, bug repellent, and whatever else you need to enjoy the great outdoors. Please check with us before bringing bulky items.

CIG supports a variety of activities, online and in person, to foster best practices in scientific software development and promote learning, networking, and collaboration. We value the participation of every member of the community and want all participants to have an enjoyable and fulfilling experience in their interactions with the CIG community. Accordingly, all who participate in CIG activities are expected to show respect and courtesy to others, whether interacting in person or online. CIG’s project leaders, meeting organizers, and committee and working group members are expected to act as representatives of CIG in carrying out their responsibilities.
