2022 SPECFEM in-person workshop for developers and users
Attendance
In-person attendance is limited to 40 participants. You must apply for either in-person or virtual attendance. Notification of acceptance and travel support begins August 1, 2022.

Location
The workshop will be held at the Chestnut Conference Center (89 Chestnut St) located adjacent to Nathan Philips Square, directly north of the city’s Financial District. [map]
From the Westin:
- Walk 25 min along Bay street.
- Transit. TTC Bus #19 from Yonge & Queens Quay (20min).
- Taxi/Uber. Share a ride. Coordinate with you fellow attendees (10-12 min).
Registration
Workshop fees include conference costs, breaks and lunches. All participants must apply for support for workshop fees.
Lodging
For attendees of the 2022 SSA Tomography Conference, we recommended adding days to your hotel reservation at conference rates.
Travel
We recommend flying into Toronto International Airport (YYZ) prior to the beginning of the workshop, Wednesday October 26 and departing no earlier than the evening of Friday October 28.

From Toronto Pearson International Airport to Downtown Hotels:
- Taxi/Uber (25-30 min).
- UP (Union-Pearson) Express to Union Stations ($12.35 CAD one way). Board the UP Express at Pearson Station at the airport and disembark at Union Station. The Westin is about 10 minutes walk away at the intersection of Queens Quay W & Bay St (total travel time ~ 37 min). Download the UP Express app for mobile tickets.
- Public Transit. TTC (Toronto Transit Commission). Take the 900 Airport Express bus from either Terminal 1 or Terminal 3 to Kipling subway station. From there go to your destination on the subway lines and bus/streetcar routes.
From Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport (on Toronto Island) Public Transit:
- From the Toronto Island Airport, walk towards Queens Quay West, take the 509 street car eastward to Queens Quay/Ferry Docks station. Take the stairs to the street level, and you will see the Westin at the southeastern corner of the Queens Quay & Bay St intersection.
