2024 Geodynamic World Builder Hackathon

Category: Hackathon
Description:

Dates: February 12-17, 2024
Location: Panama City, Florida

Join us in building the Geodynamic World Builder (GWB) community by attending the first GWB hackathon. GWB is an open-source code library intended to set up initial conditions for computational geodynamic models and/or visualize complex 3D tectonic settings in both cartesian and spherical geometries.

Current users and developers of the GWB will be working side-by-side over an approximately 5-day period to establish and advance the community through improvements to code and its infratsructure. Participants will make significant progress on the development of the GWB itself, focusing on developing features and code maintenance that address the needs of the larger community.

Goals of the hackathon:

  1. Plan and complete development on new features.
  2. Train participants to effectively contribute code.
  3. Discuss future directions.
