2023 Rayleigh Hackathon

Location

The workshop will be held on the campus of the Colorado School of Mines in Golden, Colorado in the Ben H. Parker Student Center Ballrooms D (Campus Map G-5) . On campus housing is located in Maple Hall (Campus Map I-6), a 3 minute google walk to the Student Center.

Registration

Workshop fees include conference cost and breakfast, lunch, afternoon snacks, and welcome dinner. You are responsible for your own dinners the remainder of the week. All participants must apply for support for workshop fees.

Housing

Participants will be housed on campus at Maple Hall (Campus Map I-6).

Dormitory style accommodations are single occupancy. Linens (sheets, pillowcases, and towels) are provided. Please remember to bring your own toiletries.  

Housing package includes breakfast and lunch at the Mines Market Cafeteria. Your key card will grant you access to both Maple Hall and Mines Market. Only the welcome dinner is included.

Dinner: 5:00-6:30P available for purchase ($13.50)

Check in:     June 11  Maple Hall between 4P-7P. 
Check out:  June 16  before 10A. Luggage storage is available.

The desk will be staffed from 4p-10pm. Guests who arrive before scheduled check-in can drop off luggage at Maple lobby. If no Staff is present, call Justin: 303-808-1548. There is NO CHECK IN between 10p-7A.

Participants are responsible for additional charges including lost key charges ($125), lost or damaged cards ($25), lockout charges ($10), missing or damaged linens, and holdover/late checkout ($50 + lodging).

Off campus lodging is paid at the travelers own expense. 

All campus buildings are non-smoking.  Absolutely no alcohol.  Mines is a zero-tolerance, drug-free campus (including marijuana).

Saturday Check out

Participants staying over Friday night will be charged $xx. This will be deducted from your travel reimbursement.  You are on your own for breakfast. Participants must check out by 10A.

Welcome Dinner

A welcome dinner will be held at the Sherpa House on Monday June 12 @6:30P.

Recreation Center

The recreation center is available for conference guests during their hours of operation. You will need to sign waivers and purchase daily guest passes. 

Wireless

CSM is part of eduroam.

If you are not an eduroam member, please check the CSM website for wireless access information.

Travel

We recommend flying into Denver International Airport (DEN) prior to the beginning of the workshop, Sunday, June 11 and departing the afternoon of Friday, June 24.

Travelers can arrange for airport transportation to the following services:

SuperShuttle

Golden West Shuttle: $XX shared

UberPOOL: $xx (estimate)

Fares are estimated one-way prices.

We will organize, shared, return airport shuttles during the workshop.

Travel support is available for participants from U.S. institutions to cover most of transportation costs.  Please apply when registering.

Parking

Visitors to campus during operational hours — Monday-Friday 7 a.m.-5 p.m. — should park in the General (blue) and Commuter (yellow) lots. Please visit the pay stations to receive a parking permit or use the pay-by-cell option. Parking is enforced via license plate software. [website][parking map]

Parking is reimbursable for local participants.
