2023 Rayleigh Hackathon

Category: Hackathon
Description:

Dates: June 12-16, 2023
Location: GoldenColorado

Rayleigh is designed for the study of MHD turbulence and convection in spherical geometry using a pseudo-spectral approach and runs efficiently on O(10^5) cores.  In this workshop, users will work together to implement features into Rayleigh and improve/debug existing functionality and documentation.  This a great way to meet other code users in-person and to gain experience working with the Rayleigh source code.

The majority of the time will be spent working on the code in an informal setting, individually or in small groups. Participants should at least have basic knowledge of how to run the code and how to use the analysis routines provided as part of the code base.  A working knowledge of Fortran, the code structure, or the mathematical algorithms on which it is built is a plus, but not required.  Participants are expected to contribute to the code, its analysis routines, and/or its documentation during the workshop and participate in discussions on future directions.

Applications Open: March 1
Applications Closes: April 15 CLOSED
Notification of Acceptance Begins:  April 1 COMPLETE
Limit: 16 participants

Apply to attend.

All participants are expected to abide by the CIG Code of Conduct.
