2016 ASPECT Hackathon

Transportation

This event begins on the UC Davis campus and will move to Lake Tahoe from June 25 to July 2.  Group transportation will be provided from Davis and back to regional airports. Participants should plan on taking afternoon flights on July 2.

Lodging

All rooms are shared (2-4 persons) with their own bathrooms. Bed types include bunkbeds. Rooming arrangements are preassigned.

Please remember to bring your own toiletries.

Laundry facilities are available onsite.

Food

This is a group event. Participants are expected to share in general upkeep of the premises. This includes one day of mandatory kitchen duty. KP (kitchen patrol) begins with dinner and ends with lunch. Teams are expected to have the kitchen ready for the next meal.  Everyone is expected to clean-up after themselves.

Evening meals are catered except for one free evening. Breakfast and lunch provisions will be available with limited food preparation service (DIY). Baking is highly encouraged!

Volunteers are needed for pre-trip grocery shopping.

Sign Ups and Grocery List here.

Clothing

Olympic Valley is at an elevation of 6200'.  Expect cool nights and warm days.  Rain is possible.

The Lake Tahoe region has a wide range of recreational activities (see links below). We recommend bringing a pair of hiking shoes, swimsuit and towel, rain jacket and whatever else you need to enjoy the great outdoors! Please check with us before bringing bulky items.
