2014 CIG Crustal Deformation Modeling Workshop

Tutorials

A description of the software tools and general workflow used in crustal deformation modeling is available in the Short-Term Crustal Dynamics Work Area under General Information. Tutorials will cover the use of PyLithCUBIT/Trelis, and ParaView. There will also be discussion of some other modeling tools during the Science Talks.

BEGINNER TUTORIALS

Beginner tutorials for PyLith and CUBIT/Trelis will not be offered at the workshop. Beginner users should work through the extensive set of examples in the PyLith manual and online tutorial.

THURSDAY JUNE, 12, 1:00PM - 3:00PM PDT: PYLITH/CUBIT INTRODUCTION AND HELP SESSION

This online help session will give new users a brief introduction to PyLith and CUBIT/Trelis and provide the opportunity to ask questions. This is intended to complement the use of the extensive documentation available via the PyLith user manual and online tutorials.

Monday - Intermediate Tutorials

These tutorials will provide a discussion of intermediate PyLith/CUBIT topics. Prior to the workshop users should have installed the software and worked through the examples provided in the PyLith manuals.
